Wesley Shannon Fitchett passed away on August 4, 2018, at Riverside Community Hospital, in Newport News, VA at the age of 41.
Shannon is survived by his children, Timothy Fitchett, Paolo Obregon and Sofia Obregon; his grandson, Jaxson Wesley Fitchett; his mother, Mary Darlene Summerford and step-father, James “Rod” Summerford; his brother, Cliff Fitchett; his sister, Julia Fitchett; his niece, Erica Kurowski; his nephew, James “Jesse” Fitchett; and his long-time girlfriend, Mandi Ladner.
Shannon was born on September 11, 1976 at Riverside Community Hospital in Newport News,VA. Shannon enjoyed wrestling when he was a boy, and spending time with his friends. He loved fishing, playing softball at Quaterpath Park, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sundays. Shannon worked many years as a chef at various restaurants around Virginia, including The Williamsburg Lodge, The Backfin, The Carrot Tree and more. Shannon loved spending time with his family, especially his children who were the loves of his life. Shannon had a very infectious smile and laugh that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Weymouth Funeral Home, with visitation to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Shannon’s life. Flowers and condolences can be sent to 12746 Nettles Drive, Newport News, VA.
