Thomas Edwin Gentry, 87, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018. Born in Bellingham, WA, he had been a long-time Peninsula resident.
He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. and the U.S. Army., retiring as a CW4 after 44 years of service. He was a Veteran of Korea, Vietnam and the Bay of Pigs. He was a Life Member of the American Legion and a member of the VFW. He also served on the Board of Directors at the Ft. Eustis Museum.
Mr. Gentry is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Edna Mae Gentry; two sons, Marvin D. Gentry and Glen A. Gentry (Linda); two daughters, Tommie Gentry Seeley and Bobbie Gentry Maddox; a sister, Sally Jo Vance; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and close family friends, Douglas Bissette and Donald Maddox. He also loved his dogs, who were fondly known as the Three Amigos
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 at Weymouth Funeral Home with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Dementia Foundation.
