Romona C. Collins, 84, the daughter of Fred Crowley and Ethel Crowley Gauldin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 surrounded by her family at St. Francis Nursing Home.
Romona was an active member of Hidenwood Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Bible Study Group. She was a past member of the Junior Women’s Club and Active in many area bridge groups.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, D.A. Gauldin; a son, Calvin Sanford Collins, Jr.; and her husband, Calvin S. Collins. She is survived by her sons, Robert Collins and his wife, Sheila, and Christopher Collins and his wife, Shannon; 5 grandchildren, Erin, Carson, Michael, Lesley, and Sean; and her beloved companion, Maurice.
The family would like to extend their thanks to St. Francis Nursing Center, Hospice Care of Virginia, her hospice nurse, Imani, home care aides, and a special thanks to the “Gang on Poindexter”.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 12, 2017 at Hidenwood Presbyterian Church. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017 in Peninsula Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hidenwood Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
