Melanie “MelMel” Wilma Daniel was born to the union of Richard and Annie Daniel in Brooklyn, New York and was called home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. Melanie or MelMel attended PS93 as a toddler due to her parent’s involvement with the PTA in District 13. Many grew to love her at an early age in Bed Stuy. She attended Junior High School 258 and went on to Boys and Girls High School in 2010, before transferring to Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, Virginia. She would earn her High School Diploma at Denbigh High School in Virginia. That same year she gave birth to her 1st child Jessica, the twinkle of her eye. Nine years later she gave birth to her beautiful son, Julius.
Melanie grew up surrounded by a host of family. She adored all of her cousins. She grew up spending some summers in Mississippi. She was a secret poetry writer and was too shy to share. She enjoyed partying and listening to music; from Anita Baker to Lil Baby. She loved happiness in life.
Melanie will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Richard and Annie Daniel; her children, Jessica and Julius; her sisters, Katrina, Koren and Joyce; her only brother, James; her nieces, Nevaye and Princess; her only nephew, Jalen and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 by Pastor Bill Haynes at Weymouth Funeral Home.
