Mary Paige Stone, 62, passed away peacefully at home with her sister, Beth and close friend, Debra, by her side on Thursday, February 18, 2021. She was born in Newport News to Lewis S. Stone, Jr. and Peggy Williams Stone. Paige remained a lifelong resident of Newport News, graduating from Menchville High School and attending James Madison University. She was a member of Hidenwood Presbyterian Church. Paige retired after 25 years of service as a paralegal from Patten, Wornom, Hatten & Diamondstein.
Paige devoted her life to her family, many wonderful friends, VA Tech and her beloved cats, Stoney, Oreo and Hokie. Her thoughtful, caring spirit, enjoyment of the beach, good music, VT sports and conversation created endless opportunities for family and friends to create lasting memories. These memories will live on with those who survive her: her father, Lewis S. Stone, Jr. of Newport News; her sister, Beth Landry and her husband, Jim of Smithfield; her nephews, James R. Landry, III of Scottsdale, AZ and Lewis B. Landry of Smithfield; beloved cousins and countless friends that were like family. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Peggy W. Stone.
Her family expresses deep appreciation to her friends, extended family and Church for their prayers and love during her illness. We are especially grateful to the Doctors, their medical teams, and close friends, Jan, Terri, Sue, Lisa and Gina for their incredible skills, devotion and care during her battle with cancer.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Peninsula Memorial Park.
