Mary Cawthon Priddy, 67, passed away peacefully Sunday morning August 22, 2021 with her husband and daughters around her. Mary was born in Newport News, VA. After graduating from Christopher Newport College in 1975, Mary worked as an OR/PACU nurse for several facilities and retired from Riverside Health Systems. Mary will be remembered for her unending kindness and love. She was an avid crafter, loved to travel, and was always there to support and care for others. In the words of her daughters, “she made everything beautiful.”
She was preceded in passing by her father, James V. Cawthon and her brother, Roger Cawthon.
She is survived by her husband of almost 47 years, Bobby; two daughters, Tina Priddy Herbert (Tom), Amy Priddy Radcliff (Wade); two beloved granddaughters, Gwendolyn and Adeline Herbert; her mother, Gwendoline Cawthon; two brothers, John Cawthon (Jennie), and Rick Cawthon (Martha) and sister-in-law, Kathy Cawthon and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Weymouth Funeral Home. Masks will be required for the visitation. Interment will be private. Condolences and memories can be shared at the online guestbook. Donations may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society.
