Margaret Woodruff Saunders, 94, of Newport News, VA, died peacefully Friday, May 25, 2018. Born in Petersburg, VA she was the daughter of the late Samuel W. and Ida Luter Woodruff. She was a lifelong resident of the Peninsula and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Newport News, VA

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Howard W. Saunders III, daughters Margaret H. Saunders (Holly), Julie W. Saunders and five brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her sons, Richard L. Dodge, Stephen H. Saunders and wife, Rhonda G. Saunders and grandchildren Margaret Anne G. Saunders, Stephen M. Saunders, Hans H. Saunders and Lamar H. Saunders.  

A private family service will be held at St John’s Episcopal Church, Hampton, VA. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
