Lucille “Lucy” Gail Sukman, 77, died on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Philadelphia, PA. Lucy had been a Peninsula resident since 1983, moving here with her husband via the U.S. Air Force. She received her associate degree from TNCC and worked for the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce for 22 years as a controller. She was a member of Temple Sinai, Temple Beth El and the National Council of Jewish Women. She enjoyed her time as a volunteer at the CNU Ferguson Center since it opened in 2005.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Rebecca Venitsky and her sister, Phyllis Nelson. She is survived by her husband, Michael Sukman; her children, Gilbert Fein (Felice) of West Chester, PA, Elise White (Casey) of Newport News, VA and Helen Tosti (John) of Lone Grove, OK; her 6 grandchildren, Kaitlin Williams, Chelsea Carroll (Corey), Kevin and Jason Fein, Jacob Williams and Tyler Burke and 3 great-grandchildren, Hallie and Lillie Carroll and Thomas Burke.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Weymouth Funeral Home by Rabbi David Katz. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Williamsburg Memorial Park. Donations may be made in Lucy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
