Joan Marie Cawthon passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018. Joan was a native of Chicago, Illinois and a resident of Newport News since 1971. She met her husband in Chicago, who was serving with the U.S. Army. During their service she traveled the world. She was a member of St Jerome Catholic Church.
She was a stay at home mother to raise her two boys. She is survived by her husband, Howard Cawthon and her children, Howard Lee (Lisa) and Steven ( Donna); her sister, Judy Kloss; and her grandchildren, Blake Michael, Chelsea, Cameron, and her great-grandchildren, Emmitt, Aria, Kyle, and Addilynn.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Weymouth Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Jerome Catholic Church by Rev. Charles Saglio. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass.
