Jemme Rex Gay, 54, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Rocky Mount, NC and had been a life-long Peninsula resident.
He was formerly employed as a manager with Papa John’s Pizza. He was a member of Lebanon Christian Church, and St. Tammany Masonic Lodge #5 in Hampton. He was a graduate of Ferguson High School.
Jemme is survived by his wife, Darla Gay; a son, Jemme Gay II; his parents, Rex and Joan Gay; a brother, Patrick Gay (Marlies); a godson, Jamie Myers; his faithful “Furry Friend”, Mattie; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dennis Worsham. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow with Masonic Rites in Peninsula Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
