On May 14, 2017, James E. Bradley, 56, passed away with loved ones by his side. Jim was born June 19, 1960 in Williamsburg where he lived until he joined the US Coast Guard at age 17. After 15 years in the Coast Guard, Jim retired as a Chief Petty Officer but wasn’t done with his government service yet. He continued and with over 36 years of government service, Jim retired as the Deputy Chief Knowledge Officer with the Department of the Army.

Then the fun began as he quickly transitioned to his new role as the Cross Country/Track and Field Coach at York High School and as a personal trainer and private coach. As an active athlete with a passion for triathlons, duathlons, cycling, running and swimming, Jim found his niche and thoroughly enjoyed the kids, the coaching and the team building.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, George E. Bradley and Barbara Bristow and by his beloved grandparents, Louis J. Hogge and Mamie R. Hogge. He leaves behind his adoring daughter, Samantha L. Bradley ; his son, Christopher J. Bradley ; his devoted fiancé, Jackie Sislak and her two kids, Kira and Kyle Sislak.

Jackie and Samantha would like to thank our incredible friends, family and student athletes for their love and support the last two weeks. A very special thanks to the nurses in the MICU at Riverside Hospital who not only treated Jim as a friend of their own, but helped Jackie and Samantha during this time.

A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1:00pm at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, VA followed by a gathering of friends and family at the church.  Interment will be private. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
