James Earl Barbrey, 74, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 18, 1942 in Clinton, NC to the late Claude and Stella Barbrey. James was the owner of Barbrey Home Improvement.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda O. Barbrey; his daughter, Delores Barbrey Stokes of Newport News; his sons, Russell and Timmy Barbrey, both of Newport News; grandchildren, James, David, Heather, and Kaila; 3 great-grandchildren, Spencer, Jiselle, and Greyson; brother, Leon Barbrey; sister, Lucille West; and many nieces and nephews. He loved his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. James was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers; and 3 sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at Weymouth Funeral Home by Bishop Robert R. Hall. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
