Henry Eugene Brown, 91, of Newport News went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Henry was born in Halifax County, a son of the late Eugene H. Brown and Beulah C. Brown. He was a faithful member of Denbigh Baptist Church and was active in Gideons International.
Henry was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Tucker of Randolph, Mary Alice Englehart of Charlotte Court House; his brother, James A. Brown of Randolph; two grandchildren, Timothy Wayne and Rachel Nicole Brown of Smithfield. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 67 years, Janet S. Brown; two sons and their wives, Daryl E. Brown (Rhonda) of Chesapeake and Gary W. Brown (Tammy) of Smithfield; his granddaughter and her husband, Melinda E. May (Nathaniel) of Sacramento, CA; two great-grandchildren, Brayden W. and Easton T. May; his sister, Jean B. Burton of Covington, GA; four brothers, Riley T. Brown of Randolph, R. Shirley Brown of Charlotte Court House, Joseph C. Brown of Winchester, VA and Samuel H. Brown of Cullen.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00a.m.at Weymouth Funeral Home by the Rev Richard Wilson of Denbigh Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00a.m. Interment to follow the service in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, VA.
