Harold H. Edighoffer passed away peacefully at 97 years old on August 6, 2018 in the afternoon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Edighoffer.
He was the best of men, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a WWII pilot; he worked for NASA as an aeronautical engineer, and was one of the top ranked digital chess players. He was a resident of Newport News for over 50 years. Bigger than his brain was his heart; taking care of his family, his church, and his community. He loved to laugh. He loved to play cards after dinner. He loved to make jokes. He had a strong faith and was a member of Hilton Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed for he was loved.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Hilton Baptist Church. Funeral Services will begin at 1:30 pm at the church by Rev. Lynwood Wells. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
