Gordon Lee Sarvis “Pete,” died at home in Hayes on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the age of 74. Pete was born on March 14, 1943 in Petersburg, Va. to Albert and Judith Sarvis. After his service in the Navy, Pete settled in Newport News where he worked for CSX Transportation for 31 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved his Redskins and Alabama football.
He is survived by his three children, Bonnie, Tony and Kathy; his two sons-in-law, Ryan and Jeff; six grandchildren, Lane, Christopher, Becca, Kendall, Brian Michael and Brittany; and three great-grandchildren. Pete is reunited in heaven with his loving wife of 39 years, Sue Sarvis, who he has longed to see again.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Peninsula Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
