Ginger Lynn McCartney Heath passed away on August 1, 2017. Ginger was born July 24, 1957 in Frankfurt, Germany to MSG Harry(Sr) and Donna McCartney of Newport News, VA. She is preceded in death by her father and leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Donna; her daughter Erin Lynn; and son, Jeff Heath Jr.; four sisters, Terry Poplawski (Michael), Jody O’Hara (Bill), Kelly Bourdon (Gregg), and Tracey McCartney; and brother, Trooper McCartney, along with a host of other relatives.

Ginger graduated from Menchville High School in 1975 and served proudly in the US Navy as an Air Traffic Controller. She also worked for many years at Busch Gardens and the Timeshare industry in Williamsburg, VA. She was active in her community and church, serving as Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher and go to volunteer. Ginger was filled with big dreams, spreading joy and laughter to all those she touched. In true Irish fashion she continually chased rainbows for her pot of gold.

In the spirit of her memory we encourage bright colors at her memorial service, to be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 3pm at St. Luke’s UMC, 300 Ella Taylor Rd. Yorktown, VA. The family will receive friends at the family home following the service. Flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home by noon on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the foodbank at St. Luke’s UMC. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
