James Gordon Krebs, Jr., 88, died on Monday August 15, 2022 at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong Newport News resident and worked for many years at C&P Telephone Co. He was a talented musician and loved playing the steel guitar. He was a member of the band, The American Tradition (formerly The Arkansas Travelers) which played country music at venues around the Peninsula and Middle Peninsula and helped with the monthly Country Music Nights at Temple Baptist Church.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Mary P. Krebs and his son, James Kenneth Krebs. He will be missed by his family, friends and fellow musicians.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Weymouth Funeral Home by Rev. Wes Taylor of Temple Baptist Church. Arrangements Weymouth Funeral Home.
