Donald Edward Hill, 89, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

Don was a native of Lashmeet, WV and had been a Peninsula resident for the past 62 years.

Don was an active member of the Seaford Church of Christ.

Don was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Betty Davis Hill; his parents, Jim and Lucille Hill and his brother, Alvin Hill. He is survived by his daughters, Pam Maradik of Newport News, VA and Debbie Vanderschel and husband, David of Mentor, OH; his son, Tim Hill and wife, Annette of Newport News, VA; six grandchildren, Timothy, Logan, and Hunter Hill, Nicholas Vanderschel, Sarah Vanderschel-Law and Matthew Maradik and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Weymouth Funeral Home by Rev. Chris Cuthbertson. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.

Such a wonderful and caring man, and first cousin to dad (Gary Crotty). He will be greatly missed. Pam and Debbie we are sorry for your loss and are thinking of you and the family during this time.

Donald and his family were a big part of my life growing up in WV. He was my older first cousin but due to the age difference he was always called Uncle Donald. Had frequent contact as we grew older and he was instrumental in getting us involved in camping. His memory will always be treasured.
