Pamela Michele McCants, of Newport News, Virginia, died after a brief illness on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the age of 60. She was a preschool teacher at Watkins Early Childhood Center.
Predeceased by her father, Edward H. Colley, Pam is survived by her daughters, Michelle Adams (Brian) and Erin Ramirez (Marc); her mother, Christine Colley; her brother, David Colley (Amy); her granddaughter, Kiley Ramirez; her nephew, Andrew Colley; her niece, Mary Beth Parks (John), and two great-nieces.
Pam was a graduate of Denbigh High School and Christopher Newport University and spent nearly 30 years teaching for Newport News Public Schools. She truly loved children and found real joy in teaching. She treasured deeply the friendships and bonds she shared with family, her colleagues in education, her book group, Bunko group, and her many friends.
The family will celebrate her life in a private memorial, and they encourage others to find their own personally meaningful ways to remember and honor Pam’s life.
The family thanks Dr. Elizabeth Cooper (TPMG) and the nurses and doctors at Riverside Medical Pavilion for their care and concern during this difficult time, particularly the SICU nurses, Natalie and Allison, overnight on July 2, 2022. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home
