Location: Weymouth Funeral Home

Visitation: Following the Service

Location: Weymouth Funeral Home

Charles Bennett Aycock, 70, went to be with God while surrounded by his loved ones on May 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Doris and Linwood Pollard. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Karen M. Aycock; his daughters, Allison Belle and Victoria Aycock; his son, Mark Gresik; 2 grandchildren, Nicholas Bennett and Elliott Mae Belle; his soon to be daughter-in-laws, Aimee Sraver and Bekah Purifoy; his brother, Jerry Aycock and wife, Karen; his mother-in-law, Brenda Peters; many extended family members and his special little schnauzer buddy, Mia.

Bennett spent his summers growing up in Smithfield, NC, where he got in the habit of not wanting to wear shoes. In his youth, Bennett was a member of the Boys Club where he met his core group of lifelong friends. After graduating from Newport News High School, Bennett became part owner of Aycock & Craft Jewelry Store. He then worked at VNG for 15 years. Bennett loved the outdoors, which led him to the last 22 years of owning Aycock’s Lawn Care. He built a great business in his own neighborhood in the Riverside area. Bennett was a very social person and was considered a friend by many.
Bennett loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He bragged about them to anyone he met. Bennett enjoyed eating the best home cooked meals at his mother-in-law’s and spending time with family. He might have been a little addicted to TikTok towards the end, but it was fun to watch him try to keep up with the younger generation.
Bennett, we hope you know how special you made our lives. We will love you forever.
On behalf of Bennett and his family, we would like to sincerely thank Dr. Weiner, the nurses who took such great care of us, and Karen’s entire NICU family who supported us through this difficult time.

A Celebration of Bennett’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Weymouth Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.

Karen I'm so sorry I could not come yesterday for the funeral of Bennett. I did the bookkeeping and taxes for Aycock & Craft Jewelry Store, in Hilton Village years ago. Then, some years later, I spoke at Grace UMC on Shoe Lane and one of your children was baptized during the service. I'm still in the tax business and would be more than happy to help you if you needed that. Please let me know how I can assist you. Raymond D. Nations, EA, Nations Tax Expert, 757-825-8291

Karen, I am so sorry to hear about Bennett's passing. Prayers for you and your family at the very stressing time. Bennett and I were very good friends in high school. Bennett invited me to join a fraternity he was in (DPO). We hung out all the time. As you know we get married and move in different directions. I did get to see him not long ago at ACE and introduced him to my daughter. He was a great guy and loved you very much.
