Carol Ann Steuart Bruce passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, with her best friend and husband, Ron Bruce and loving family by her side.

Carol was born in Denver, Colorado on December 20, 1937. She was blessed with loving parents, four sisters and one brother. Because they were a military family, they moved from and returned home to Kearney, Nebraska where her mother and grandparents were from. They previously lived in California, Germany, New York and Texas.

In Texas, Carol became a mother to two children, moved to Hampton, then Newport News, Virginia. She worked at Langley Commissary and Busch Gardens for years. Carol was kind, giving, and sought to care for others. Most people became instant friends and were then considered family. Her smile and kindness were contagious. Carol loved her grandchildren, family, the beach, and road trips.

Carol is preceded in death by her beloved children, Laura Ann Bartlett, and Chris Bartlett; and her loving parents, James and Betty Steuart.

Carol leaves to cherish her love and memory her devoted husband, Ron Bruce, daughter, Lynn Gray (Steve) of West Point, grandchildren, Zachary Gray (John Scott) of Riverview, FL, Chelsea White (Ryan) of West Point, sisters Georgia Hanifan (Maurice) of Fallon, NV, Betty Alley (John) of Puyallup, WA, Candace Dobson of Fernley, NV, Monica Stanley (Jim) of Carson City, NV, and one brother, Jim Steuart (Alethea) of Fallon, NV. Carol also has many adored nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Hilton Presbyterian Church with a reception following. Entombment was private with immediate family at Peninsula Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.

We were so blessed to have you in our lives. Whose genuine kindness, generosity and faithfulness made a difference in so many lives. She lived the discipleship of Christ. Her family and friends were the most important people in her life. We shall miss you; "Until we meet again." You will always be in my heart and prayers. Carol truly loved and cared for her family and friends. She ALWAYS made herself available, ready and willing to do all that she could to any and all who had a need. She was a picture of what a true friend is. We will cherish the happy times we had together. Her beautiful genuine warm smile just welcomed one in. Carol was an uplifting person and after being around her even for a short period of time she had the ability to make one feel better. She is what our Father God would want us to be . . . a true friend and a wonderful Christian! She will forever be in our hearts never to be forgotten!

We are so happy that Jason, Jennifer and we were able to see & visit with Carol and the family in late March. We will always cherish the time God gave us to remember the many holiday events we shared over the years. The short life God gives us here is nothing in comparison with eternity with Him and our family & friends in heaven! Carol was the symbol of love, kindness and such a devoted friend. I am so proud to call her my friend. I had so many good times over the 20 some years I knew her. I feel so empty and sad now that she has gone. But I know she is in Heaven with her Dear Chris watching over us all. May God Bless her loving family which she loved so dearly.
