Franklin "Frankie" L. Kalgren

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021

Location: Pine Chapel Baptist Church

Franklin “Frankie” Kalgren, 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.  He graduated from Penn State University with a Drafting and Design Technology degree, which made him a lifelong Nittany Lion Fan.  He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a Draftsman.  He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, working with his hands and spending time with his family. He was a member of Pine Chapel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Grace Kalgren; his brothers, Rodney Kalgren and Timothy Kalgren. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon Kalgren; his three daughters, Michelle Prather and her husband, Spencer Prather, Bonnie Youngand her husband,  Kevin Young and Karen Clark and her husband, Steven Clark; six grandchildren: Emma, Claire, Isaac, Jacob, Evelyn and Daniel and his brother, Daniel Kalgren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Pine Chapel Baptist Church by Pastor David Parker. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation at curemeso.org.
