Joshua Rane Harr, 35, of Newport News, VA. It is with great sadness, our son, father, grandson, brother, family member and friend to all, passed away unexpectantly on Friday, September 3, 2021. Josh was born in Newport News, VA. He attended Point Option and was employed by Roof Services, Inc.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa Harr of Newport News, VA; his son, Dylan Rane Harr of Newport News, VA; his daughter, Charlotte Layne Harr of Murrells Inlet, SC; his grandmother, Jimmia Harr of Newport News, VA;  his father, Christopher Lopez and his wife, Maria of Hampton, VA;  his sister, Marissa Lopez of Richmond, VA; his brother, Christopher Lopez of Richmond, VA. Along with many extended family and friends.

The simplest pleasures in life bought great joy to Josh. Spending nights around a bonfire with his son Dylan or taking long walks on the beach with his children. Josh enjoyed the beauty of nature and taking hikes. His most treasured moments were time spent with his children Dylan and Letty. To Josh, his family meant everything. He had a smile that would light up a room. We will always remember Josh for his enormous heart, compassion and willingness to always help others. Josh had a unique way of touching everyone's life in so many ways. To know him was to love him.

“Taken away from us way to soon. Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not”.

We know you are now reunited with your beloved Kingdog.

In honor of Josh, a Remembrance Service for family and friends will be held 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at The Valley of Newport News Scottish Rite, 65 Saunders Rd, Newport News. A reception will follow from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Josh, hope you can read this from above, bro. I know it’s been years since we’ve talked on a serious level. But I definitely remember kicking it back in high school days. Blasting music with friends, adventuring in to the unknown at Yorktown Beach at all hours of the night, and just general mischief. You were always so down to Earth. Easy to talk to. Smiles for days, bro. You always knew how to make us laugh and just forget about the ridiculous things even for a moment. I’ll always remember the dope ass times we had, man. Rest In Peace, Josh.

You were my Best Friend bro. This all seems so surreal. Not a day goes by that I dont think of you. I miss you more than mere words can ever express. We spoke about death that very day. Your final wishes will be done. Things wont be the same without you. 1*4*3* Until we meet again my friend. R.I.H.

Damn man, I wasn't ready for this. I'm gonna miss you so much brother, we met at the salvation army ARC and we used to talk about the struggle and how badly we wanted to do better. I love you man you always had time to lift me up and to just talk about how life was going. We lost a great one man and its not fair. Your at peace now, watch over us brother.
