Ret. SGM William Terry Lenderman, devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated grandfather went home to the Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was born in Lebanon, Kentucky but grew to be a man on Lenderman Rd. in Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi.

The highlight of his 24-year Army career was his time as a 1st Sgt. in the 10th Mountain Division in Ft. Drum, New York. “Top” led not only by his example, but in the ways of the military, on the athletic field, and as a man.  Ret. SGM Lenderman served both in Thailand during Vietnam and in the Persian Gulf War while stationed in Germany. In his retirement he enjoyed opening new Bass Pro Shops in locations all over the country.

None of these accomplishments were more important than loving his wife of 45 years, raising his children, and spoiling his grandchildren. Once he discovered the RV life, he found a way to combine his love of travel, of driving, and of being with his family. Grandpa in the RV took the family on many trips to the mountains, made trips to Texas and Florida to events for his grandchildren, and made countless trips to the Farm to visit the Lenderman family.

All his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their friends will have one less sweet and loving comment on their photos with his passing.

Our dad, grandpa and Uncle Bill taught us all to work hard, love hard and show up for others. We lovingly and reluctantly let him go because we know he will be with the love of his life, Cathy, his parents, his son, and his brother in the Lord’s kingdom.

Ret. SGM Lenderman is predeceased by his wife, Catherine Carmody; his parents, Walker James and Mary Sue; his brother, Harry “Bubby” Lenderman and his son, William “Terry” Lenderman. He is survived by his five children: Daniel, Joseph (Amy), Michael (Niki), Alicia, and Carol Lenderman; his brother, Jimmy Lenderman (Frieda); ten grandchildren; a large beloved extended family, and his soldiers.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Jerome Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass to begin at 12 noon by Rev. George Prado. Interment will take place at a later date at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
