Jane met SFC Victor Klemencic, the love of her life, in 1950 and they were married in Tacoma, Washington on February 2, 1951. Additionally, Jane held down the home front through three long separations for deployments to Formosa in 1953 and Viet Nam in 1966 and 1969.

In addition to being a dedicated and supportive army wife, Jane was mom to three very active boys. She was den mother, team mom, cheerleader, nurse and disciplinarian over 30 years worth of rec, high school and college sporting events, PTA meetings, doctor and emergency room visits and dented cars.

In 1977, Jane and Vic retired to Newport News, Virginia where Jane dedicated many hours to the Denbigh American Legion Post, Denbigh High School Boosters Club and the Fort Eustis Officers’ Wives Club Thrift Shop.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers as well as her husband of 52 years, CW4(ret) Victor Klemencic. Jane is survived by her sons Daniel Klemencic (Janet) of Yorktown, VA, COL(ret) John Klemencic (Tina) of Windsor, CO and CDR(ret) Steven Klemencic (Elaine) of Montclair, VA; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her life was filled with much love and many adventures and she will be truly missed by her family.

A very special thanks goes out from the Klemencic family to the kind and caring staff at Mennowood Retirement Community for the excellent care that Jane received during her seven years as a resident.

I first met Jane in the 1960's when Steve was in Cub Scouts and shared many fun times. I later started volunteering at the Fort Eustis consignment shop where Jane was the Manager. She was an amazing person and I loved working with her again. I will always treasure her grace and friendship. RIP my friend. You earned you wings.
