Christopher Dean Adams, 38, passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2023. He graduated from Menchville High School in 2003 and had attended Peninsula Catholic High School and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School. During his school years he enjoyed playing baseball at Warwick Little League, soccer with PC and Menchville, and basketball in the church league and PC. Many teammates and competitors have fond memories of their chance to join in comradery with Christopher. He was a Cub Scout and bridged to be a Boy Scout. Chris (as he was known to his friends) liked the company of his friends and being with family as he had many relatives near and far. Christopher liked traveling with his Mom & Dad, his sister, Alison and his brother, Philip as he grew up. He was glad he could visit Big Sky, Montana on his own to see his sister and go snowboarding. Christopher was easygoing and had a good sense of humor. He especially liked Monster trucks when he was young (watching videos endlessly!), cool cars as he got older, and would engage in interesting conversations about sports, politics and the latest documentary or movie he watched on TV.
Everyone liked Christopher and are remembering him as being respectful, attentive, and fun loving. A particularly fond memory was when Christopher was in the Mt. Carmel ten-year-old church league basketball team in the tournament finals. Excitement and nerves seemed to overtake this middle of the ranking team against one of the better ones. At halftime they found themselves down fourteen to zero. Perseverance and determination brought them to a score fourteen, all at the end of regulation. There was no letdown from losing in overtime compared to what they had accomplished. Christopher poured his heart and soul into that game while being the best teammate, competitor and a good sport. All who witnessed the game agreed it was something special as was Christopher in all things. He spent a few years living in Richmond where he was a delivery driver for Amazon. Recently, he worked at George’s chicken processing company in Harrisonburg. He is survived by his loving family – parents, Mark and Susan; sister, Alison (Shane Hammitt), and brother, Philip. He will be fondly remembered by great-aunt, Bonnie Tingle, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends near and far, here on earth and those departed before him.
