Richard Patrick Oram, 68, of Newport News, VA, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He was born in Boston, MA to the late Richard John Ballard "Jack" Oram and Mary Ellen (Clancy) Oram. Rick served 20 years in the United States Army and retired in 1993 as a CW3 specializing in transportation maintenance. He had a great love of golf and spent much of his free time golfing along with his more recent passion of riding his motorcycle and his love of dogs. 

He is survived by his wife, Wendy (Maddox) Oram; his children, Katherine Thiemicke (Peter) of Munich, Germany, Shawn Oram (Jessica) of Emmett, ID, Melissa Davenport (Hoyt) of Williamsburg, VA and Megan Dickert (Bill) of Bishop, GA; 11 grandchildren, Kayla Edgerton, Emily Oram, Alex Oram, Shannon Dickert, Elizabeth Thiemicke, Maddox Edgerton, Louise Thiemicke, Charlie Dickert, Wilma Thiemicke, MJ Dickert and Isabella Oram and siblings, Nancy Fischer(Mark) of Cheseapeake,VA, Jerald Oram of Milford, NH, William Oram(Cathy) of Pelham, NH, Daniel Oram(Terre) of Lexington, MA and Mary Norris(Chris) of Westford, MA.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard J. Oram, Mary E. Oram and aunt, Dorothy Bannon.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Weymouth Funeral Home, 12746 Nettles Drive, Newport News, VA 23606. A Celebration of Life Service immediately following will be held at My Neighbors' Pub, 12743 Jefferson Ave., Newport News.  In lieu of flowers if friends desire, a contribution can be made in Ricks name to Angel Flight-Mid Atlantic.
