Jean K. Hartert

Interment: Arlington National Cemetery

One of God's angels returned home on May 4, 2023.  Jean K. Hartert, 90, passed away at Riverside Hospital after a brave fight with a rare form of cancer.  

Jean was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Gilbert and Gladys Krohn.  She grew up in Chicago, Illinois, with her two brothers, Gil (deceased) and Roger (deceased) and graduated from Hershey High.  She met her husband of 56 years, LTC Richard A. Hartert (deceased 2010), in California and married in Las Vegas on November 6, 1953. 

Jean is survived by her two children, Dr. Richard (Debbie) A. Hartert, Jr., and Laura Waters; three grandchildren, Ashley Hartert, Courtney (Matt) H. Gumbinger, Xanthe (Charles) Otterstedt; and three great-grandchildren, Finley and Quinn Otterstedt and Olivia Gumbinger. 

Jean is to be interred with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.
