Albert Agee Williams, age 78, of Newport News, VA passed away on April 9, 2023 after a brief illness. Agee was born in Goldsboro, NC to Leonard Williams and Betty Brown. He graduated from Spencer High School in Columbus, GA. Agee married Vera Goodwin on June 22, 1963, in Phoenix City, AL. He worked for 40 years as the Fire Marshall at Hampton University. Agee was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 12, 1980 and was a faithful servant of Jehovah for many years. Agee served as an elder in the Christian Congregation for almost 40 years and he loved helping others to learn about his heavenly Father. Over the years, Agee served in a number of congregations in the Denbigh area and he especially enjoyed the shepherding work and he took that assignment very seriously. He also enjoyed working with the Regional Building work as well as doing temporary work at Bethel.
Agee is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Shermon Patrick Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Vera Goodwin Williams; his son, Gary Agee Williams of Riverdale, GA and daughter-in-law, Vivian Williams of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Gary Travell Williams and his wife, Shavonne Williams of Atlanta, GA and Jarvis Rashad Williams of Orlando, FL; two great-grandsons, Jarvis Williams, Jr and Logan Williams; two sisters, Helen Hall and Francine Champion; two brothers, Donelle Brown and David Brown; a host of other family members as well as Shawn & Amy Eagan and Reynaldo Davila who Agee and Vera viewed as their children.
The family wishes to thank all of their spiritual brothers and sisters for providing loving-kindness and support over the past few weeks as well as the Weymouth Funeral Home for their assistance in making the final arrangements for Agee.
