Elsie Turner Phillips, 82, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018. She was born June 21, 1935 in Warwick County and had been a life-long Peninsula resident.
She was retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after many years of service. Elsie loved to fish and watching the Washington Redskins.
Elsie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Phil Phillips, a U.S. Air Force Veteran. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis English and husband, Ralph of Seaford; her grandson, who had a special place in her heart, Taylor English and Heather Moore of Yorktown; and life-long friends, Ruth and Ronnie Harris of Newport News. The family would also like to extend their heart-felt thanks to the staff of York Convalescent Center and heartland Hospice for all their wonderful care.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2018 at Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev. Dennis Worsham. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
