Edward Joseph Robinsky, Sr., 93, died Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Ambridge, PA and had made Newport News his home since 1966. He was a veteran of WWII, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of dedicated service. His second retirement was from the NNSY as a designer in 1987.He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Mr. Robinsky is survived by his wife of 68 years, Delores Robinsky; his four children, Butch Robinsky and his wife, May, Donna Weaver and her husband, Brown, Susan Hoffman and her husband, Ken and Thomas Robinsky and his partner, Lee Padgett; 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was the last of 16 siblings. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver, Donna Scott and Debbie Olsen from Virginia Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6-7:30pm at Weymouth Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:30am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church by Rev. Joseph Goldsmith. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
