On a warm November 4th day, Dennis James passed away from complications of ALS and frontotemporal dementia. Born at Ft. Eustis Army Hospital in 1953, he was the son of Margaret and Charles James.
After schooling at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School and Warwick and Ferguson High Schools, Dennis pursued a trade as an HVAC installer.
An avid craftsman, he spent countless hours in his workshop creating furniture, bird houses, deck railings and pergolas. Dennis enjoyed water-skiing on the Chickahominy River and summer vacations on the Northern beaches of the Outer Banks. Chocolate chip cookies were a signature gift he baked for family, friends and neighbors for Christmas.
Preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Charles James and his sister, Peggy, he is survived by his wife, Sherry; brother, Charlie; sister-in-law, Susan Sherrill; parents-in-law, Barbara and Richard Sherrill and favorite pup, Joey.
