Christa M. Holland, age 81, entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2018. She was born in Berlin, Germany and was a long time resident of Newport News. Christa was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Kate Kroll and her daughter, Jacqueline Carroll. Christa is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Donnie for 53 years; her sister, Renate Valco and her husband, Don; her brother, Han-Joachim Kroll of Berlin, Germany; her sons, Kenneth W. Holland and his partner, Laura Waltrip of Hampton, VA, David M. Holland and his wife, Candace of Newport News, VA; step-son, Donnie G. Holland and his wife, Helen of Elm City, NC; son-in-law, Paul of Fairless Hills, PA; grandchildren: Steven, Christopher R., Noah, Brandon, Andrew, Christopher W., Stacey, and twins, Jacob and Caleb and great-grandchildren, Nathan and Madeline Grace.
A double visitation will take place along with her dearest friend, Noreen Pennington, who passed away several days before. The visitation will take place on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 6:00-8:00p.m.at Weymouth Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00a.m.by Rev. Nick Redmond at Weymouth Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
