Carey Lee Nichols “Gary” to Most, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was born to his parents, the late Benjamin Price and Ella Lee Nichols of Roanoke, VA, in Newport News. Gary loved his family, yard, flowers, fish, God’s creatures, and anyone who was his friend. He loved people and was always willing to help anyone he could. He never met a stranger.
Gary was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara K. Nichols in 2016. He is survived by his children, Tracie N. Anderson (Jimmy), Travis W. Nichols (Stacey) and Carrie L. Nichols; grandchildren, Katey (Walter) and James; great-grandsons, Gavin and Isaac; brother, Gene Nichols (Diane); sister, Shirley Spangler (W.D); brother-in-law, George Kail (Carole) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to be sent to Colony Friends Church, 284 Colony Rd, Newport News, VA 23602. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
