Annette Mary Delzell Hodges, 85, was born in Indianapolis, IN and lived most of her life in Newport News, VA. Annette passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Annette’s love was the purest and unconditionally kind. She was a true angel on earth. She welcomed everyone with open arms and a caring heart. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved going to watch her grandchildren’s school programs, games, graduations and would attend all family gatherings just to be around the people she loved. She and her husband were active in their church, St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, where she volunteered. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Hallmark movies and trips with family and going out to eat.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John and two sons, Steve and Nick.
Annette leaves behind her son, Joe; her daughter, Linda (Bob) along with her granddaughter, Bernadette and grandsons, Douglas and Lucas; two step-granddaughters, Susan and Nancy and her 3 great-grandsons, Tyler, Noah, Zachary.
Her beautiful and sweet soul will forever be missed! She is irreplaceable but we find peace in knowing that she is with the amazing people who went before her.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon-1:30p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Weymouth Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jerome’s Catholic Church. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
