Ronald “Ronnie” Collins, 63, went home to the Lord on January 5, 2022. Ronnie was a Newport News native that graduated from Warwick High School in 1977. He started his career life at the shipyard, before spending 20 years working for Pepsi. He went on to be a Communications Specialist with companies all over Hampton Roads. Ronnie was a distinguished employee with a vast array of achievements in every career path he chose. Ronnie and his wife, Lisa, worked at Pepsi together but it was a chance encounter that finally brought them together in 1982. As fate would have it, Lisa's car wouldn't start while at the same 7-Eleven Ronnie had stopped at. He jump-started her car, as well as both of their hearts and the rest as they say, was history. Which led to over 34 years of marriage, and 3 beautiful children.

Ronnie will most be remembered for his quiet demeanor, genuine soul, playful sense of humor, down to earth attitude, loving heart, tenacious loyalty, admirable work ethic, great integrity and how when he spoke, it was with conviction. He enjoyed spending time watching the Redskins play, dedicating time to his family, and enjoying quality time with friends and perfecting his hair. His grandchildren were his heart and soul. Spending endless hours playing cars, board games and catch with them. They, along with his own children, are his pride and joy.

Ronnie was such an essential part of the family and he will forever be intensely missed and greatly loved by all of those left behind.

Ronnie was proceeded in death by his parents, Eddie and Helen Collins; mothers-in-law, Celestia Clary and Maria Foster; sister, Joann Hudik; son, Edward Collins; granddaughter, Elizabeth Collins and best friend, Ronnie Thornton. Ronnie left behind his wife, Lisa Collins; son, Skye Collins and his wife, Melody;  daughter, Laken Collins and wife, Kayla;  grandsons, Kaiden, Carter and Evan Collins; granddaughters, Gracelynn and Kaidence Collins; sisters, Sandra Slusher and husband, Gary and Julie Bright-Campbell; brother,Tony Collins and wife, Jenny; fathers-in-law, Bill Clary and Ernie Foster; brother-in-law, David Hudik; sisters-in-law, in Texas, Tina Foster Konrad, Lisa Foster Russell, Sharon Foster Zermino and Terry Foster; bonus family, Jennifer Cooter, Shelby Clipper, Viola Thornton, Barbara & Brian Sooth; numerous nieces and nephews, amongst countless friends.
