On the morning of March 20, 2024, while at work Jesse Kevin Smith passed suddenly into the arms of Jesus due to a heart attack.

He had worked as an engineer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 35 years.  Jesse loved his job and was held in high regard by his fellow workers and supervisors.

Born in Richmond, VA to Jesse A. Smith Jr. (predeceased) and Josephine (Easter) Smith, Jesse Kevin began his life of adventure worthy of a cinematic award winner. Jesse Kevin was predeceased by his first wife, Paula Davidson.

Jesse’s genuineness, love for life, HUGE smile, eagerness to HELP and generosity were all hallmarks of his well-lived life.  Jesse loved Jesus.  He was an avid student of God’s Word and faithfully served His LORD at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Newport News (now Manna Church).

In addition to his mother and wife of nine years, Carol Jean Smith, Jesse is survived by his sister, Janet Thompson, wife of Robert, and nephews, Davis and Jordan.  Jesse is also survived by Paula's daughter, Leslie Davidson, husband Michael Altomare and baby J.
