Graveside Service: 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023

Location: Peninsula Memorial Park

Anthony John Leonard, 48, of Newport News, VA departed this earth on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Tony was born in Newport News, VA to Mitchell Ray Leonard and Vickie Steppes Leonard. He worked for Wayne Harbin Builders, Inc. and took great pleasure and pride in his work.

He is preceded in death by his father, Mitchell; grandparents, John Ivey and Ruby Shirley Ellis Steppes and Carlton E. and Eula Margaret Harris Leonard, mother-in-law, Linda Allison. He leaves behind his wife, Holly Allison Leonard, bonus children, Jake and Emily Saylor of Newport News; beloved daughters, Faith Renee and Ava Grace Leonard of Bethel, NC; mother, Vickie Steppes Leonard; sister, Michelle Leonard Johnson (Jesse); nephew, Christian Johnson; aunt, Donna Steppes Spence; cousin, Thomas E. Spence, Jr. (Holly) and children, Hannah, Thomas and Noah Spence of Newport News and a host of extended family and friends. 

Tony will be missed terribly, but we take comfort in knowing his pain on this earth is over.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Peninsula Memorial Park by Pastor Chris Hoyt and Thomas E. Spence.

The family requests no flowers to be sent. Condolences may be shared below. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
